Norman Reedus Drops “Pendulum” Horror Trailer on Eve of Walking Dead Anniversary

Norman Reedus picked the perfect day to scare everyone. On October 30, 2026, the actor shared the trailer for his new horror film “Pendulum” on Instagram — exactly one day before the 16th anniversary of “The Walking Dead’s” premiere on October 31, 2010.

“Pendulum” opens in theaters on January 1, 2027, making it the first horror event of the new year. The film is set at a new-age retreat deep in the New Mexico wilderness, where a couple arrives hoping to heal from an unknown traumatic event — and things go very wrong from there.

The cast is stacked: Reedus stars alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Phoebe Dynevor and Jacki Weaver. Behind the camera is director Mark Heyman, who co-wrote “Black Swan” with Darren Aronofsky, and producer Dave Caplan, whose “Longlegs” helped redefine modern horror. The film is rated R.

Reedus’s next “Walking Dead” project is also around the corner: “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” season 4 premieres on AMC about a month after “Pendulum” hits theaters. The actor clearly isn’t done with the genre that made him a star — he’s just expanding it.

Between the anniversary timing and the pedigree behind the camera, the “Pendulum” trailer arrives with real momentum. New Year’s Day horror is an unusual slot, but for a film about a retreat gone wrong, an ominous release date feels entirely on-brand.
