Avengers: Doomsday will release in Indian cinemas on December 17, 2026, a day before its scheduled release in the United States on December 18, Marvel India confirmed in a festive video message from stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans.
In the video, recorded for Diwali, Downey Jr. and Evans wished Indian audiences a happy festival before sharing the early date. The film will arrive in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, giving Indian audiences the first chance anywhere to watch Marvel’s next big-screen team-up.
Downey Jr., who previously played Tony Stark, returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villain Doctor Doom, while Evans reprises his role as Steve Rogers, the former Captain America. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film brings together heroes from across the franchise to face an existential threat, and is the 39th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The early India date follows a familiar pattern for major Hollywood releases, where a Thursday opening gives the film a four-day opening weekend. Avengers: Doomsday will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, currently expected in December 2027.
