The two sides will meet three times before their Rugby World Cup Group A encounter in Sydney, including a historic Anzac Day Test at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Sunday, April 25, 2027. Melbourne will also host the fixture again in 2029, confirmed with the Victorian Government.

The last All Blacks-Wallabies meeting at the MCG was in 2023, when a crowd of 83,944 watched New Zealand win 38-7. The Wallabies and All Blacks have played only four previous Tests at the MCG, with two wins each, and the 2027 match marks 30 years since they first played there.

Rugby Australia CEO Phil Waugh called the MCG “one of the world’s great stadiums — and a jewel in Australia’s sporting crown.” Other confirmed 2027 Wallabies home fixtures are against Argentina on July 10 at Allianz Stadium in Sydney and July 17 in Townsville, and against Ireland on September 18 at GIO Stadium in Canberra. The 2027 Rugby World Cup starts on October 1, 2027, making the July-September home Tests part of the build-up. This is rugby union, not rugby league, and is separate from the Kangaroos’ Rugby League World Cup campaign and the cricket Test series against South Africa.
