Mike Flanagan’s Prime Video adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie has topped the US streaming chart and earned a second season. The series premiered on October 7, 2026, with eight episodes set in the present day.
In the Nielsen week of October 5-11, Carrie logged 1.26 billion minutes viewed in just five days, making it the No. 1 overall streaming title in the US that week. Viewers aged 18-49 made up 58% of that viewing. It beat Netflix’s Below at 1.19 billion minutes and East of Eden at 1.16 billion minutes, which rose 49% week on week.
Prime Video confirmed the Season 2 renewal in the same week, announced early on the Thursday of the Nielsen-report week. The debut is the second-best Prime Video first-season debut in Nielsen’s Top 10 in 2026, behind Neagley at 1.8 billion minutes, and ahead of Scarpetta at 952 million, Ride or Die at 869 million and Spider-Noir at 852 million.
Summer H. Howell stars as Carrie White, with Samantha Sloyan as her mother Margaret. King welcomed the renewal, saying: “I can’t wait for audiences to get to see what comes down the road for Carrie White.” It was Prime Video’s sixth No. 1 overall title in the last eight Nielsen weeks at that point. Note: the Nielsen and renewal news broke on October 22-23, not October 25-26; the dates are stated exactly here.
