Universal has dropped a new trailer for Focker In-Law, the fourth film in the Meet the Parents franchise, which opens in theaters on November 25, 2026 — the Thanksgiving holiday window. This time, the franchise’s signature dynamic is flipped.
Ariana Grande plays Olivia Jones, an ex-FBI hostage negotiator turned life coach — and the new girlfriend of Greg and Pam Focker’s son Henry, played by Skyler Gisondo. Instead of being the nervous outsider, Ben Stiller’s Greg Focker is now the suspicious in-law, scrutinizing Olivia the way Robert De Niro’s Jack Byrnes once scrutinized him.
De Niro returns as Jack Byrnes alongside Stiller, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner, with Owen Wilson also back. New additions include Beanie Feldstein and Eduardo Franco. The film is written and directed by John Hamburg, the franchise veteran behind the first two sequels.
The Meet the Parents series has been a consistent comedy performer since the 2000 original, and Universal is betting that the role-reversal premise — plus Grande’s star power — will draw holiday audiences back to the Focker family table.
