Searchlight Pictures has released the official trailer for Behemoth!, a project 14 years in the making from writer-director Tony Gilroy, best known for The Bourne Legacy and his acclaimed work on Andor. The film opens in theaters on December 4.
Pedro Pascal stars as a cellist who returns to Los Angeles after two decades on the road, in what the trailer presents as an intimate, music-driven character study. The cast also includes Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, Will Arnett as the cellist’s podcast-host brother and Hank Azaria as his father.
Early critical impressions describe Behemoth! as a “triumphant odyssey,” suggesting Gilroy’s long-gestating project has landed with reviewers ahead of its release. The trailer trades on atmosphere and performance rather than plot, positioning the film as a prestige December release.
With a Christmas-corridor release date and a Searchlight pedigree, Behemoth! is entering the conversation as one of the late-year films to watch — and the trailer’s arrival on October 28 puts it firmly on awards-season radars.
