Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) conducted the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 on Sunday, 25 October, in two shifts. Shift 1 ran from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and Shift 2 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Around 35.42 lakh candidates have registered for the exam.
With the exam over, candidates are now waiting for the answer key. Coaching institutes are releasing unofficial answer keys, using which candidates can match their answers and estimate their scores. However, the final and valid answer key will be the one released by the Commission on its official website, upsssc.gov.in. The official answer key is expected about a week after the exam.
How to calculate your score: The exam had 100 questions, each worth 1 mark. A correct answer earns 1 mark and a wrong answer attracts negative marking of 0.25 marks. So, estimated score = number of correct answers − (number of wrong answers × 0.25).
Once the official answer key is out, candidates can visit upsssc.gov.in, open the PET 2026 notice and view the master answer key PDF. If there is an objection to any answer, it can be raised within the time limit fixed by the Commission, with supporting proof and the prescribed fee. The objection dates have not been announced yet.
