Production on Extraction 3 has officially wrapped, with Chris Hemsworth sharing new photos from Thailand as filming on the Netflix action sequel came to an end.
Hemsworth posted pictures from his time in Thailand, including exploring local landmarks and spending weekends off with his children, as the country served as the final shooting location. Principal photography began in July 2026 across Sydney, Wollongong and various European locations before moving to Thailand.
Sam Hargrave returns to direct the third instalment from a screenplay by Joe Russo and David Weil. The film continues the story of Tyler Rake, a former Australian special forces operator turned mercenary, based on the graphic novel Ciudad. Golshifteh Farahani and Idris Elba reprise their roles from the previous films, while Don Lee, Joe Taslim, Chi Lewis-Parry, Siena Agudong and Pierce Brosnan join the cast.
With filming now complete, the action thriller could target a mid-2027 release window, according to coverage of the wrap. The Extraction franchise has become one of Netflix’s most successful action properties, with Hemsworth producing alongside the Russo Brothers through their AGBO banner.
