The announcement, shared on his official Instagram account, said Bauza “has passed away suddenly” and that more details would follow. He died at home in Los Angeles, according to reports citing Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records, which recorded hypertensive cardiovascular disease as the cause, classified as a natural death.

Bauza, a Canadian born in a Toronto suburb to Filipino parents, began his career in 2000/2001 and built up more than 400 acting credits. He voiced Bugs Bunny from 2018 to 2026, along with Daffy Duck, Tweety, Porky Pig and Elmer Fudd, and worked on Space Jam: A New Legacy, Looney Tunes Cartoons and Coyote vs. Acme, in which he voiced nearly a dozen characters in 2026.

Warner Bros. Television Group chairman Channing Dungey paid tribute to his 15 years at Warner Bros. Animation, saying he “brought joy and laughter to millions around the world.” Tributes also came from fellow voice actors including Grey DeLisle, Jim Cummings and Carlos Alazraqui. Bauza won three Children’s & Family Emmy Awards and was in pre-production on Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical at the time of his death.
