New Delhi: Chinese smartphone brand Realme is set to expand its Realme 16 series with the launch of the Realme 16x in India on August 12. The company has confirmed the launch date and revealed several key features of the upcoming budget 5G smartphone. The device is expected to be the most affordable model in the Realme 16 lineup and will pack a massive 7,000mAh battery.
Expected Price
The Realme 16x is expected to succeed the Realme 15x, which was launched in India last year at a starting price of ₹16,999. While the official price has not been announced yet, reports suggest that the new model will also be positioned in the budget 5G segment.
Realme has confirmed that the phone will be available in two color options:
- Endurance Brown
- Glory White
The official teaser also reveals a triple-camera design with an LED flash and a distinctive circular camera ring on the rear panel.
Confirmed Features
Realme has officially confirmed that the Realme 16x will feature:
- 144Hz refresh rate display
- Up to 1,200 nits peak brightness
- AI-powered features
- GT BOOST gaming optimization engine
According to leaks, the smartphone is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. It may offer:
- Up to 14GB Dynamic RAM
- 256GB internal storage
Battery and Camera
One of the biggest highlights of the Realme 16x is its 7,000mAh battery, which is expected to support 45W wired fast charging.
For photography, the smartphone is likely to feature:
- 50MP AI main rear camera
- Triple-camera setup
- LED flash
The device is also expected to come with IP65 water and dust resistance and military-grade durability, making it more durable for everyday use.
Realme 16 Series Expansion
Realme had earlier launched the Realme 16T in India in May. That smartphone features an 8,000mAh battery, up to 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and was launched at a starting price of ₹29,999.
With the upcoming Realme 16x, the company aims to strengthen its presence in the affordable 5G smartphone segment by offering a large battery, smooth high-refresh-rate display, AI features, and gaming-focused optimizations at a competitive price.
