Oscar winner Julie Andrews has made a rare public appearance. Photos obtained by Page Six show the 91-year-old legend being helped out of a vehicle in the Hamptons on October 16 — her first public sighting in months.
In the photographs, Andrews wore a lilac jacket and a white baseball cap as she stepped out in the autumn sunshine.
The outing follows her August interview with The Hollywood Reporter, in which she said she is taking on fewer on-camera jobs after a career of nearly 80 years, while adding that she is “not completely retired.” She has also declined to return as Queen Clarisse in the upcoming The Princess Diaries 3.
From Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music to her beloved narration work, Andrews remains one of cinema’s most cherished figures, and the sighting reassured fans following her quieter years.
