HCLTech’s fresher hiring is one of the most structured in Indian IT, with salary bands that are officially published on its campus-hiring page. Here is a complete guide to HCLTech Recruitment 2026 — the Graduate Engineer Trainee role, the merit-based AMP salary bands, the Elite Engineer pathway, the TechBee programme for Class 12 pass-outs, and how to apply safely.
Graduate Engineer Trainee and AMP Salary Bands
The official campus-hiring page lists Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) for fresher engineering graduates, with hands-on work on current technologies, mentoring and progression toward Senior Engineer, Technical Lead and Project Manager. Eligibility is a B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech degree in any branch, with 70% or above throughout academics (Class 10, Class 12 and graduation) for most locations, and 65% or above for New Vistas locations — Lucknow, Nagpur, Vijayawada and Madurai. Salary follows the AMP structure (Ascend, Momentum, Polaris), decided by merit: Ascend Rs 4.50 LPA (Rs 3.75 LPA at New Vistas locations), Momentum Rs 6.0 LPA and Polaris Rs 10.0 LPA. Only the top 10% of Ascend clearers are further evaluated for Momentum and Polaris. Separately, Elite Engineers — exceptional graduates from leading engineering colleges in AI, Semiconductor, Data Engineering, Physical AI and Robotics and Quantum — are offered compensation up to Rs 18 LPA.
Selection Process
The Ascend test has three stages: a cognitive test (numerical, verbal and reasoning, about 90 minutes), a coding and technical test (60–90 minutes), and a Versant English speaking and listening test with a qualifying score of 46–56 (B1 level). Only candidates who clear the cognitive and coding tests proceed to Versant, and Versant clearers proceed to technical and HR interviews. Non-Primus and off-campus candidates must undergo mandatory pre-joining training and clear a post-training assessment, which can upgrade an Ascend offer to Momentum or Polaris.
TechBee: The Class 12 Route
TechBee is HCLTech’s early-career programme for students after Class 12 — no graduate degree needed. It offers 12 months of hybrid training for entry-level IT services and digital support roles, leading to full-time HCLTech employment on successful completion. For the current 2025/2026 intake, Indian residents who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026 are eligible (board-wise minimum marks apply, and Mathematics or Business Mathematics at 60% is mandatory for IT roles). The officially stated figures are: IT Services — programme fee Rs 1.80 lakh, starting salary Rs 2.75 lakh; Business Process Operations — fee Rs 0.81 lakh, starting salary Rs 2.40 lakh.
How to Apply
Apply via the official campus-hiring page (hcltech.com/careers/campus-hiring) and the fresher registration portal (freshers.hcltech.com). HCLTech charges no recruitment fee at any stage and sends offers only from @hcltech.com addresses — any fee demand is fraud. No single official last date or total vacancy count has been published for 2026, so check the official portal for the current drive before applying.
