Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is reportedly preparing to introduce a major scheme aimed at promoting women’s economic empowerment and self-reliance. According to information received from various sources, the state government is seriously considering providing eligible women with direct financial assistance of up to ₹50,000.
Financial Assistance May Be Provided in Phases
According to the proposal currently under consideration, the financial assistance would not be provided as a lump sum but would be distributed in phases. Under the first phase, eligible women may receive ₹20,000. The remaining ₹30,000 is proposed to be transferred directly into their bank accounts in three equal installments of ₹10,000 each.
Focus on Self-Employment and Self-Reliance
The primary objective of the proposed scheme is not only to provide financial assistance but also to connect women with small businesses and self-employment opportunities. The government aims to help women in both rural and urban areas develop their own sources of livelihood and become financially self-reliant.
However, the details of the proposed welfare scheme are still being discussed at the administrative level, and final approval from the state cabinet is awaited. If approved, the scheme could become a significant step toward the economic empowerment of women in Uttar Pradesh.
