Interest Rate and Loan Features

SBI personal loan interest rates are linked to your credit profile and employer category, and have recently started at around 10.10% per annum onwards for eligible customers. Eligible salary-account holders can get up to ₹35 lakh depending on income and repayment capacity, with tenure options of up to 6 years. The processing fee is generally around 1% of the loan amount plus GST, though SBI frequently runs offers with reduced or nil fees. No security or guarantor is normally required for Xpress Credit.

Eligibility

You generally need to be a salaried individual aged between 21 and 58 years, holding a salary account (preferably with SBI) with a regular monthly income — commonly ₹15,000 or above — and some minimum service with your current employer. A credit score of 750 or above improves both approval chances and the interest rate you are offered.

EMI Example

To understand the cost, take an example: a loan of ₹5,00,000 at 11% per annum for 5 years gives an EMI of approximately ₹10,874 per month, with total interest of roughly ₹1.52 lakh over the tenure. This is only an illustration — your actual EMI depends on the rate SBI sanctions for your profile. Always compare the total repayment amount, not just the EMI, before signing.

Documents Required

Keep ready your PAN and Aadhaar/address proof, the last 3 months’ salary slips, bank statements of the salary account, and Form 16 or IT returns if asked. Pre-approved customers on YONO may need almost no paperwork at all.

How to Apply

You can apply through the YONO SBI app, internet banking, the official website sbi.co.in, or by visiting your home branch. Check for a pre-approved offer first — it is usually the fastest route with instant disbursal.
